In October, I shared that I was chosen as one of the photographers for a Matilda Jane contest. The deadline was today so I thought I would post my image that I chose to submit! The contest was for all of us to put our own “spin” on the dress. Keep in mind that I was working with a 17 month old, which translates into: not very cooperative. So after my first attempt didn’t go as planned, I opted for plan B. With the help of my sister-in-law and nieces, my “vision” came to life! I feel like I’m taking a risk by not actually having her in the dress…but I was trying to be original.

Stay tuned for some very exciting news that I will (hopefully) be sharing sometime next week. I have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, I am overwhelmed. Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving as well!

that makes me feel like these kids:

These next two were actually taken before the melt downs.

Thank you, thank you, thank you “E” family. You guys are awesome and Trish, thank you for always taking such good care of us!! I would say more but I know you’re a crier!
I love what I do…
I’m blessed to be able to meet so many great families and capture sweet little moments like these. It was awesome just watching how in love these parents were with their little guy. He was such a fun, happy toddler and to top it off, his mommy was extremely photogenic!
Definitely a new favorite of mine:

I was searching to find the perfect wedding photographer for my wedding. I met with two, who just didn’t seem right for me. And then a friend told me I must go see Gary Donihoo (thanks Norma!!!). So I went to meet him and fell in love with his work immediately. He ended up photographing our engagement, my bridals, our wedding and my three births since then! I’m just in awe of his work every time.
And now here I am photographing his kids–for the second time–many years later. It’s surreal to me. Gary was not only an amazing photographer, but has been a great friend and awesome mentor. And his wife and kids are just as wonderful. Thank you, Gary and Rachel, for everything.
