(I have lots of ramblings, so hang with me if you can. I’ll explain how to get in on some "discounted" sessions at the end of this post.)

Well, I have two "babies" on the way–one personal and one business!

The personal one is an actual baby on the way, due in June! I’m happy to say that we’re going to have a baby girl, who will be protected and loved dearly by her two big brothers.  A peek at our girl:

The business "baby" is a new direction I’ll be taking with K. Lane Photography. I will soon (well, hopefully soon) be launching a second website devoted completely to maternity, newborn and infant clients.  I am so excited about this, as I love working with these ages! The new site will have lots of important information to help these types of sessions go smoothly and of course, lots of images that will hopefully inspire you.

As I time goes on, I will be taking fewer and fewer family sessions. I recently explained in a letter to clients that I specialize in infant and child photography. My main focus of any session is to capture the infant/child at
his or her age and who they are at the time of the shoot. If time permits, a few lifestyle family
shots will be taken. However, these are never posed or forced, but
rather showcasing how you interact with one another.

If this does not sound like the kind of session you’re looking for, I’m happy to give you names of some other wonderful photographers in the Dallas area.

And now for the exciting part. Because of the new branch of K. Lane Photography, I’m looking for a few extra babies to photograph! If you have a baby between the ages of 6 to 12 months and are interested in booking a session, contact me ASAP. I am offering three sessions for $75 off the session fee! The session is for the infant only.   

First, let me apologize for taking such a long and unannounced break from blogging! After the Christmas rush and sickness after sickness at my home, the blog suffered. I am, however, about to open up my wait list and start shooting again so hopefully updates are in the blog’s future.

With a new year, of course comes some changes with K. Lane Photography. Most are minor changes, such as the session fee being due, in full, at the time the session is booked (boring, huh?). But there are a few bigger surprises up my sleeve, so you’ll just have to stay tuned to find out.

I would like to thank all of my wonderful 2007 clients and look forward to working with all of you again. I would also like to say a huge thanks to the many photographer friends that I have and all of the sweet and caring emails you have have sent over the past few months (oh and thanks for the gifts too!!!).
