Thanks for stopping by the K. Lane Photography blog! I am located in the Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX area. I love what I do and hope you will too. Although I'm not daily blogger, my goal here is to keep you informed and entertained with sneak peeks from sessions and a few glimpses of my own personal life occasionally. Feel free to send me a contact form from here or stop by my website to take a look around!
Okay, it’s finally time to vote! Here are the rules:
RULES: Voting is done by adding your favorite photographers to your shopping bag and then checking out. You can add as many photographers as you want to your bag, but don’t waste your time adding a photographer a million times to your bag because multiple votes for the same photographer in one bag are ignored. Also, you can check out only once from your IP address. Checking out more than once from your IP address will not be counted in our system. Voting will end Sunday, December 6 at midnight. Voting takes place on the Matilda Jane Clothing website.
Oh, when you hit Submit, a confirmation page appears asking you to double check everything. You must hit Submit one more time on this page for your votes to register.
Here are few that I didn’t end up going with:
In October, I shared that I was chosen as one of the photographers for a Matilda Jane contest. The deadline was today so I thought I would post my image that I chose to submit! The contest was for all of us to put our own “spin” on the dress. Keep in mind that I was working with a 17 month old, which translates into: not very cooperative. So after my first attempt didn’t go as planned, I opted for plan B. With the help of my sister-in-law and nieces, my “vision” came to life! I feel like I’m taking a risk by not actually having her in the dress…but I was trying to be original.
Stay tuned for some very exciting news that I will (hopefully) be sharing sometime next week. I have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, I am overwhelmed. Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving as well!
A little late…but hope you all had a safe and happy Halloween! We sure did.
The most-amazing Supergirl costume was made by Sonya with Little Bunny Tutus on Etsy. I can already tell it’s going to be a year-round costume and not just a Halloween costume. Thanks Sonya, it was PERFECT!!
To my wonderful and patient clients, please forgive me for falling behind. It started with the flu, then strep, now pneumonia and even stomach issues. And this is all the same kid. (not to mention our overnight sleep study last week with a different kiddo)
I know I have emails to answer, orders to place, some to deliver, editing to be done and sneak peeks to show. I will do all of it asap. And hopefully I will get to do a lot of catching up this weekend. So thank you for understanding, you have all been awesome and more than anything, you’ve been caring and concerned. I’m so lucky to have you as my clients.
Also, thanks to all of our friends and family who have been checking in. Word spread quickly about our boy and my phone started blowing up tonight with text messages. We are so blessed!
Of course I have to post a few pics. Here’s a little light in our house. So far, she’s staying healthy.
This wonderfully sweet dress she’s wearing is from a good friend of mine, also a photographer. She sent this to me (from Shabby Apple) when Alexa was a newborn and it looked huge, I couldn’t even picture her in it at the time. And now she’s almost too big for it! Thank you so much Mindy.
Also, you just have to go check out where her headband is from. (isn’t it the cutest, most petite, little headband?!). Another photographer friend of mine makes these. She has a store on Etsy.com called Only Poppy Rose, full of all sorts of girly things.
I’m so completely excited that I was chosen as one of the photographers for the recent contest on the Matilda Jane blog! There are 40 of us who are going to be getting the same dress to photograph, putting our own “spin” on it. Of course I requested the size that my own baby girl is in so she will be my model for this fun project. To say that I’m obsessed with Matilda Jane clothes would be an understatement. I’m pretty sure there is just nothing cuter than seeing my girl in her MJ clothes!
And don’t forget to look below for a little giveaway of my own!
I get lots of emails asking me about the little videos I make like the one below. I do them just for fun and they are not, in any way, very professional. But they are fun and we love them. So to answer some questions about those and what I use to edit my images:
I’m a Mac girl so I use iMovie to edit them. I shot this one below with my Canon 5D Mark II but have used my little Canon point & shoot for some of them as well. To edit my images, I use mainly ACR with Adobe Photoshop CS4. Hope that helps!
Don’t forget to look at posts below for details on mini sessions! (or email me at klanephotography@yahoo.com)
